Overnight Backpacking and Camping Adventures

From May through October we offer guided overnight and multi-day backpacking adventure tours in both Yosemite National Park and Tahoe National Forest where we have commercial use authorizations.

As your guide I am certified as a Wilderness First Responder (medical training), Leave No Trace Trainer, and have a California Food Handlers Card.

One of the best ways to connect with nature is to spend a night camping in the wild.

There are four million acres of protected wilderness within Yosemite’s boundaries, which means backpackers can escape the crowds and enjoy a backcountry experience away from tourists. Yosemite backpacking trips offer variety so you can take on the backcountry in small bits or, if you're more experienced and adventurous, in challenging bites.

Lake Tahoe guided backpacking tours take you through forests of aspen, pine, and red fir with mountain streams, alpine lakes, and stunning vistas.

Both locations offer overnight backpacking trips. If you've never taken an overnight backpacking trip, think of it as a combination of day hiking + lightweight camping. You'll discover, as so many others have, the special joy of being outside under a starry sky. Getting away, surrounded by the beauty of nature, is restorative, both physically and mentally.

We've spent hundreds of nights sleeping in tents and hammocks and know our shelter and cooking routines like second nature.

You may not have the gear or expertise to attempt an overnight backpacking trek in Yosemite or Tahoe National Forest but we do and would love to share our passion with you.

We take care of all the gear, food, permits, and other logistics.

We also love to teach backcountry skills. If you like, we can help you learn the essential gear, skills, and mindset needed to navigate the backcountry.

We generally take smaller groups out compared to most guide, outfitter, and adventure tour operators. This allows us to tailor a unique adventure experience that is right for your experience level and preferences.

We can provide delicious warm meals and warm drinks. We also provide backpacking packs, warm sleeping bags, a sleeping mat to insulate you from the ground, and a tent. The pack weighs about 30 pounds.
